Event #9: $400 NLH at Council Bluffs attracted a total of 68 entries, pushing the prize pool to $22,440. Ari Engel started the final day as the chipleader but faced a daunting 1:4 disadvantage against Theresa Morley in the heads-up. However, Engel turned the tables and led the tournament to victory.
This triumph brought Engel level with Daniel Lowery, who had secured his 21st ring the day before in the $400 Big O event (where Engel finished in 3rd place). Both players now jointly hold the 2nd place in the WSOP Circuit's historical rankings.
At the top of the historical leaderboard stands the undisputed record-holder Maurice Hawkins, boasting 26 rings.
