Main Event: Victor Dai Leads the Final 42 Players
The Main Event, with a buy-in of 10,600 AUD and a total of 770 entries, officially became the fifth largest in the series' history. The total prize pool soared to a staggering 7,700,000 AUD, reaffirming the massive interest in the series’ return.
Day 3 was filled with emotions and dramatic moments. Starting with 176 remaining players, the day ended with only 42. Victor Dai emerged as the absolute chipleader, completing a phenomenal run to amass a massive stack of 3,225,000. His ascent included the crucial elimination of Sooriyu Rajeswaran, whom he knocked out with a flush on the river.
Hot on his heels is seasoned player Andrew Hinrichsen (2,400,000 chips), who finished third in the Main Event in 2019 and now has a prime chance to improve upon his previous success.
Day 3 was also crucial due to the bursting of the money bubble. The unfortunate “bubble boy” was Joshua McSwiney, whose K-J fell to Jackson Young's J-J, leaving him without a payout.

Angel Guillen's Family-Oriented Triumph
The rapid pace and adrenaline of the 3,000 AUD Super Turbo Bounty, which saw 167 entries, culminated in a victory for WPT Global ambassador Angel Guillen. He claimed his first trophy of the year and pocketed 71,690 AUD. Guillen, who, along with his partner and WPT presenter Lynn Gilmartin, is expecting his second son in September, revealed that family is his mainstay in every decision. “I wouldn’t enjoy this as much as I do if my beautiful family wasn’t waiting for me at home,” Guillen said after his win.
The final table was played at a fast pace with an average stack under 20 big blinds. Guillen defeated Honglin Jiang in the final heads-up, with the championship decided by a dramatic hand. Guillen’s 9 c 2 h triumphed over Jiang’s K h K d, finding two nines on a board of T d 9 s T s 9 h A d.
