Bernhard Binder Dominates Day 4 of the EPT Monte Carlo 2026 Main Event

Austrian Phenomenon Binder Leads the Main Event Standings

It’s fascinating that Bernhard Binder started his poker journey just about three years ago, scoring his first EPT win in October 2023 in Cyprus. Today, less than three years later, he holds a massive chiplead in one of the world's most prestigious tournaments with a stack of 4,540,000 chips. He is the only player to surpass the 100 big blinds mark, holding a lead of more than 1.5 times the stack of the second-ranked player.

Binder's rise was highlighted by a huge hand against the then-chipleader Mehdin Chaoui, where the Austrian called an all-in on the river with top pair, accurately deducing that his hand was victorious against Chaoui's bluff.

Conversely, Day 4 was disastrous for Frenchman Thomas Eychenna, who entered the day as the chipleader but was eliminated in 22nd place after a catastrophic final level.

The only player left in the hunt for a second EPT Main Event title is Bulgarian Ognyan Dimov, who is positioned in the middle of the current standings. You can watch the official livestream replay of Day 4 at the EPT Monte Carlo 2026 Main Event here:

First Victory for Viacheslav Goryachev

The Mystery Bounty tournament witnessed an exciting finale, with 584 entries competing for their share of a €1,115,440 prizepool. After a three-day marathon, the champion emerged as Viacheslav Goryachev, marking his first major career title.

The tournament concluded with a heads-up between Goryachev and Canadian Alexandre Fournier. The two players struck a deal, with Goryachev taking home the trophy and a prize of €180,350. When combined with his Mystery Bounty rewards totaling €57,000, the winner's total reached €237,350.

Noteworthy is the performance of Canadian Matthew Klapstein, who finished in 6th place, but earned a remarkable €42,000 in bounty rewards, doubling his tournament winnings.
