The €200 GCOP Main Event, boasting a guaranteed prize pool of €200,000, attracted a total of 822 entries. However, this number fell short of the guarantee, prompting the organizers at King's Resort to top up the prize pool with tens of thousands of euros.
This development offered exceptional value for the players, further emphasized by the fact that the top ten participants not only secured cash prizes but also received a €3,000 package. This package includes four entry tickets to the upcoming King’s Million European Championship, featuring a Main Event with a massive €5 million guarantee.
The final day saw the last 24 players battle it out, all guaranteed a minimum payout of €805. The finalists included well-known names from the Rozvadov poker scene, such as seasoned Portuguese professional Igor Brito, who finished in 8th place and then went on to dominate the GCOP Closer, earning an additional €1,171.
When the tournament reached its final two contenders, Italian Christoph Franceschini and Czech Jan Cvach agreed on a deal to divide the remaining prize money.
In the last hand, both players went all-in on a flop of Q c T d Q d. Cvach held 7 d and 4 d, facing Franceschini's J c and J s. The turn 8 c and river 2 s failed to complete a flush for the Czech player, allowing the Italian to start celebrating his career-defining triumph.
