BabyPoker is on the Way
In the opening of his vlog from the third day of play, Daniel held an unusual piece of literature – a book titled The New Father: A Dad’s Guide to the First Year. Following this, he and Amanda confirmed they are 15 weeks into the pregnancy. The couple, married since 2019, revealed that they are using the help of a surrogate to bring their first child into the world.
The Negreanu family is expecting a boy, who is due at the end of November. Daniel joked that the "KidPoker" is officially becoming "DaddyPoker.” They’ve been preparing for parenthood for the past two years, which has led to lifestyle changes like earlier mornings and a more regular routine replacing wild nights.
Painful Start at the Tables
While Negreanu is experiencing one of his happiest times privately, luck at the poker tables took a harsher turn at the start of WSOP 2026. Entering the series with a bold plan to play 40 tournaments, Daniel had promising prospects in Event #2: $5K NLH 8-Handed, advancing to Day 2 among the chip leaders.
However, he faced one of the most brutal "coolers" of the WSOP 2026 early phase. Just before the bubble burst, Negreanu was holding A c A d. On a board of T s 7 s 4 c 6 c 9 c, he went all-in against Japan's Ryuta Nakai, who had already flopped a set with T h T d. Negreanu was knocked out just shy of ITM.

Despite this setback, Negreanu remains optimistic. With a long summer ahead in Las Vegas, it's certain that 2026 will be a milestone year for him, no matter how many more bracelets he adds to his collection. As he humorously said, these might be the last vlogs without a baby’s cries in the background.
