Italian Ferrari Shifts into Higher Gear

In the €5,300 Main Event, only 28 players from 1,823 entries entered Day 5. The pace was relentless, and eight players were eliminated in the first level. By the end of the day, just 13 players remained, each guaranteed a prize of at least €81,350.

The clear chipleader is Italian player Manuel Ferrari, who is the only one to surpass the 10 million chip mark. The last remaining former EPT champion is Nicolas Chouity, the EPT Grand Final Monte Carlo 2010 winner, who holds 9th place with 2,000,000 chips. Also advancing to the penultimate day is the last female player, Barbara Akemi, with 3,300,000 chips and a shot to reclaim a victory for women.

Third highest prize was claimed by fifth-place finisher Paawan Bansal, who cashed in with a total of €179,420 thanks to a successful bounty hunt.

The classic NLH freezeout with a €1,100 buy-in attracted 581 players, pushing the prize pool to €557,760.

Ukraine's Bohdan Mamitko won his first Spade trophy in Barcelona, taking home €105,020 for his victory. Runner-up was Italy's Gianluca Roggi, marking his third final table appearance in the current week.

The bronze spot went to Poland's Marcin Puczylowski, who claimed victory in the €1,100 NLH event just two days ago.

Versatile players competed in the demanding Event #59: €2,200 EPT 9-Game. The tournament attracted 65 entries with a prize pool of €124,800.

The title and top prize of €37,320 went to Slovenia’s top player and two-time WSOP winner Blaz Zerjav. In the final heads-up, he bested one of the greatest current legends, England's Benny Glaser. This marks Zerjav's sixth EPT triumph, his first in Barcelona.

Benny Glaser's skills shone in successive mixed-game events, though he narrowly missed winning trophies both times, having placed second in the €3,200 8-Game just days earlier.
