Abreu Seals His Dominance in the Main Event

The final day of EPT Paris 2026 crowned a new Main Event champion. Emerging victorious from a starting field of 1,474 entries, Jorge Abreu controlled the final table from the outset, taking home €1,148,600 and the Golden Shard trophy after a commanding performance.

The Portuguese player entered the final day with more than half of the chips in play, never relinquishing control. Although he credited his success to luck, his dominance was undeniable. Abreu eliminated seven opponents at the final table, delivering one of the most convincing finales in EPT history.

In contrast, another story unfolded for the well-known player at this table—beloved German streamer and commentator Felix “xflixx” Schneiders. Despite entering the final table as the shortstack, he fought his way to the final heads-up, boosted by the passionate support of his rail.

The head-to-head began with Abreu holding nearly a 10:1 chip advantage. In the decisive hand, Schneiders went all-in with Q d Q c after the turn. Abreu called with J s 8 c, and on a board of J c 6 c 3 s 7 s, Schneiders came close to doubling up. However, the river 8 d gave Abreu a second pair, sealing the tournament victory.

Despite the loss, Schneiders achieved his career-best result, highlighted by the fact he entered the decisive day with the smallest stack. Felix, who has documented his journey for three years, emphasized his persistence: “I must win the trophy. The trophy is not in my hand, so I still have to win it. And I never did it for the money.”
