Jeremy Ausmus Secures His Tenth PGT Trophy with a $278,400 Poker Masters Victory

Event #7: $15,700 NLH drew a field of 58 entries, generating a prize pool of $870,000. The payouts were reserved for the top 9 players, with Brock Wilson taking the unfortunate bubble boy spot, exiting in 10th place after a clash with Adrian Mateos.

Those who cashed included the champion of the first event Myles Mullaly and winner of the second event Nicholas Palma. Daniel Negreanu, a member of the Poker Hall of Fame, finished in seventh place, and third event champion Joey Weissman exited at the end of the first day.

Heading into the final day, the last five players were led by Aram Oganyan. The lone female finalist, Cherish Andrews, exited first from the final table when her A s Q c fell short against Ausmus’ pocket 9 h 9 c.

Spanish contender Adrian Mateos, the series’ overall leader, was eliminated later after losing a big pot to Oganyan and subsequently running his 7 d 3 c into Ausmus’ 9 d 9 c. Joe McKeehen, the 2015 WSOP Main Event champion, was sent out in 3rd place when his pocket 9 s 9 c couldn’t hold against Ausmus’ K s K d.

The final heads-up between Ausmus and Aram Oganyan was electrifying. Oganyan briefly took the lead, but a pivotal hand changed it all. With the board showing 4 h 6 s 4 d A h 8 d, Ausmus completed a straight with his 7 h 5 c and called Oganyan's all-in holding T d 4 c.

After this massive pot, Ausmus controlled the majority of the chips. In the final hand, Oganyan pushed his remaining stack with J d 5 s, and Ausmus called with Q h 7 s. The board didn't favor either player, securing Ausmus' landmark PGT victory.
