From Short Stack to Ultimate Victory
The final day of the €555 NLH Championship saw the last 16 players battle it out from an original 319 entries. Heading into the decisive phase, Rogers was sitting in seventh position with a stack of 640,000 chips, which meant just 16 big blinds at the time. Leading the pack was Sweden's Dennis Zetterman with 1,390,000 chips.
However, Rogers managed to completely turn his disadvantage around, progressing to heads-up against the local favorite, Alger Pissarev. Even the Estonian’s home-field advantage wasn’t enough in the end. Rogers dominated the final duel, clinching the trophy and a top prize of €30,005. Pissarev took home €20,290 for second place, while the initial chipleader Zetterman finished third with €14,830.
