American Matthew Gawel delivered a commanding performance at the final table of the Jamul Poker Open Main Event in Southern California, leading from start to finish. From the outset of the final day, he maintained the chiplead, and in a brief heads-up lasting only three hands, he secured the largest career victory to date.

The main event with a $600 buy-in attracted a total of 327 entries, pushing the final prizepool to $170,040. Matthew Gawel claimed the coveted trophy and a record-breaking $36,015 in prize money for his victory.
