Matthew Higgins Secures His 10th Ring with Victory at the WSOPC Tunica Main Event

Event #13: $1,700 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event drew a total of 367 entries to Horseshoe Tunica. Players generated a prizepool of $556,005.

The path to the final table was anything but easy, with several notable players, such as bracelet holder David Moses, who finished in 5th place, making deep runs.

Higgins entered the final heads-up with a roughly 2:1 chip advantage against Daniel Garner. Garner, one of the newer faces on the circuit, put on a stellar performance throughout the final table but fell short against his more seasoned opponent.

In the last hand, Garner went all-in with Q s J d, and Higgins promptly called with K c T h. Although the flop Q c T c 5 c gave Garner top pair, the turn 6 c completed a flush for Higgins, relegating Garner to second place with $74,824 in winnings.

With this victory, Higgins joins the elite club of players with double-digit rings, marking his third triumph in a WSOPC Main Event. He humbly commented on his success: “You just have to keep grinding. I’m trying to build something for my kids to leave behind when I'm gone,” said the 45-year-old champion, who has now surpassed $4 million in lifetime tournament earnings.
