Abarzuza Scores a Lifetime Triumph

The Venom PKO NLH with a $2,650 buy-in attracted a total of 2,143 entries. The original $5 million guarantee was surpassed, reaching a final prizepool of $5,357,500. This was evenly split into $2,678,750 for placement prizes and $2,678,750 for bounty rewards on eliminated opponents.

Spaniard Oihan “PushLightYear” Abarzuza fought his way to the final table, initially waiting patiently for his chance from the back positions and cranking up the speed in the final four hands. He advanced to heads-up after eliminating Pepareg1 in 3rd place with A-Q against A-8.

In the decisive showdown, Abarzuza faced off against the aggressively playing ArkaduktusFRM. Despite entering the duel at a slight chip disadvantage, he turned the situation around in two crucial hands.

In the tournament’s key hand, Abarzuza with A c 2 c hit two pairs on the board A h 5 h 3 d 9 c 2 s, and called the all-in of his opponent, who had A s J h. Abarzuza claimed a monumental victory with a total win of $536,577.
