Heading into the final day, Blagg began in fourth place and with patient play, advanced to heads-up against 24-year-old Eric Yanovsky. Despite Yanovsky holding the lead for most of the day, Blagg managed to shift the momentum.
The decisive hand came on a board of 7 s 5 c 4 c 9 s. Yanovsky shoved all-in with 8 s 2 s (flush draw and straight draw). Blagg instantly called with 4 h 4 s. The river J d brought no help to Yanovsky, sealing Matthew Blagg's career-defining victory, which significantly surpassed his previous best of 14th place at this year's The Colossus at the WSOP.
