Pasquale Iallonardi Claims Life-Changing Victory at Dutch Classics, Taking Home €44,500

Article cover

This year's Dutch Classics Main Event, with a buy-in of €250, drew a substantial 1,515 entries, bringing it close to its €400,000 guaranteed prize pool.

The festival was dominated by the robust German community, which made up half of the final 24, and five of them reached the final table. However, it was the formidable Pasquale Iallonardi who ultimately triumphed.

The Italian victor showcased aggressive play at the final table. From the formation of the final nine, he held more than a third of all chips in play and used his chiplead to maintain constant pressure on his opponents.

Mustafa Begovic had an intriguing journey through the tournament. On the final table, he navigated with one of the smallest stacks but, with remarkable patience, managed to outlast others and reach the heads-up.

The final duel was swift. In the decisive hand, Mustafa went all-in with K♠6♣ on a turn of Q♣5♥J♣K♥. His top pair, however, ran into Iallonardi's A♥T♥, who already had the nut straight, sealing Pasquale's monumental victory.
