PHOTO: Vamos Poker Tour Troia Crowns Champion, Pablo Lario Dominates Main Event

The Vamos Poker Tour continued its journey from Slovakia to Portugal, transforming Casino Troia into an epicenter of international poker for several days. The VPT Troia 2026 festival featured a total guarantee of €300,000, with the Main Event—a highlight—boasting a guaranteed prize pool of €125,000. With a buy-in of €350, the main tournament drew 452 entries over three days, offering cash prizes to the top 55 players.

The finale had everything a great Main Event should have. A diverse international lineup, several local Portuguese players, a strong Spanish presence, and ultimately, a heads-up battle that saw the trophy head to Spain.

Local fans cheered for two representatives—Andre Filipe and Coelho Bessa—who fought hard to keep the trophy in Portugal. However, Bessa was eliminated in sixth place, followed closely by Filipe in fifth, confirming the trophy would leave the country. The only question was where it would go.

Fourth place went to Omar Abdelaziz Anaya from Spain, earning €8,800, while Ukrainian player Turkol Andrii claimed third and pocketed €12,000. The tournament concluded with a heads-up between Poland's Cezrnik Marcin Marek and Spain's Hernandez Pablo Lario.

Before the final showdown, both players agreed to an ICM deal and subsequent game, with the Spaniard outperforming in the end. Marek Cezrnik, nevertheless, doesn't leave empty-handed, securing the largest payout of €23,535. Hernandez Pablo Lario became the VPT Troia 2026 champion, taking home €21,090 after the deal.
