The final battle featured an exceptionally strong lineup, including Belgium's three-time WSOP bracelet winner Davidi Kitai and the well-known Natasha Mercier.
Chevalier, who had to reschedule his train ticket home to make it to the final table, showcased a perfect blend of patience and aggression. From the five-player stage onward, he eliminated every opponent, entering the final heads-up against fellow countryman Hervé Gouzil.
In the decisive hand, Gouzil went all-in with A d T h and Chevalier called with K h 9 c. The board 7 c 9 s T d 6 c K s gave Chevalier a crucial second pair on the river, granting the recreational player a career-defining victory.
