PokerStars on FanDuel lights the fuse: Ignite Series brings 90 events and 5.000.000$ in guarantees

That number matters, but so does the timing. This is the first major festival staged on PokerStars’ new multi-state setup on the FanDuel platform, available to players in Michigan, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. In other words, Ignite is not just another online series squeezed into the calendar. It feels more like a statement of intent — a sign that PokerStars wants to make noise again in the regulated US market, and do it with the kind of broad schedule that once made its tournament offering feel untouchable.

The structure of the series suggests exactly that. PokerStars is aiming at every level of bankroll, building three weeks of action around a schedule dominated by no-limit hold’em, while also mixing in a handful of pot-limit Omaha events to keep the festival from feeling one-dimensional. It is the kind of lineup designed to appeal both to grinders chasing volume and to recreational players looking for a few big shots without having to dive into nosebleed territory.

Naturally, the spotlight falls on the Main Events, and PokerStars has gone with a three-pronged approach. All three begin on Sunday, May 3. The centerpiece is the 300$ Main Event with a 500.000$ guarantee and a two-day format. Alongside it sits a 50$ Main Event carrying 100.000$ guaranteed in a single-day structure, while the high-end option comes in the form of a 1.500$ Main Event with a 250.000$ guarantee, also spread across two days. Combined, those three tournaments alone put nearly 1.000.000$ on the line, giving the closing weekend the kind of weight a flagship series needs.

But Ignite is not relying on one final Sunday to carry the story. The schedule is packed with name-brand events that should help create momentum throughout the festival. Among the early highlights are the 100$ Dynasty with 200.000$ guaranteed and the 500$ Firestorm with 150.000$ guaranteed on April 19. Later come events such as the 250$ Thrill with 100.000$ guaranteed on April 23, the 200$ Sunday Dynasty with 250.000$ guaranteed on April 26, the 1.000$ Sunday Storm with 200.000$ guaranteed that same day, and the 1.000$ Super Tuesday with 150.000$ guaranteed on April 28. There is also a 250$ PLO Wednesday Wrap carrying a 50.000$ guarantee on April 22, a small but important nod to mixed tastes within the player pool.

What makes this launch particularly interesting is the broader context around it. PokerStars has spent years trying to find its footing again in the US after regulatory fragmentation turned the market into a patchwork of separate ecosystems. A 90-event festival with 5.000.000$ guaranteed does not solve that story on its own, but it does give players a first real glimpse of what PokerStars on FanDuel might look like when it is fully trying to compete rather than simply reintroduce itself.

For American online tournament players, that is the real intrigue here. Ignite Series is more than a fresh logo and a few ambitious guarantees. It is a pressure test for PokerStars’ renewed US identity — a chance to prove that the brand can still build anticipation, still create volume, and still turn a tournament schedule into an event. From April 18 through May 4, the fuse is lit. Now the question is whether the player pool will make it explode.
