Ritwik Khanna's Stunning Comeback

One of the festival's biggest heroes was Indian player Ritwik Khanna, who conquered the second largest and wealthiest High Roller in APT history. The tournament, with a buy-in of 120,000 TWD, attracted 329 entries, pushing the prize pool to a staggering 34,110,720 TWD (approximately $1.09 million), far surpassing the original 20,000,000 TWD guarantee.

Khanna performed an unseen comeback in heads-up against defending champion Trung Quan Nguyen. At one point, he was trailing 10:1, but with a series of double-ups and aggressive play, he turned the battle to his favor.

For Khanna, this was a career-defining victory, making him the first Indian player to win the standard APT Mega Lion trophy. Before the final showdown for the title, the players agreed on an ICM deal, ensuring nearly identical winnings.

Japanese Triumph After Three-Day Marathon in Zodiac Classic

The prestigious Zodiac Classic tournament, sponsored by Natural8, delivered unexpected drama. Due to a massive field of 486 entries, the event couldn't be completed as scheduled, necessitating a third day of play.

This unexpected delay didn't stop Japan's Eisuke Katsuren, who maintained his chiplead and claimed the title. Before the final heads-up, the last three players agreed on an ICM deal, ensuring six-figure payouts in dollars for all involved.

In addition to the main cash prize of 5,457,040 TWD, Katsuren secured his first APT title and a ticket to the APT Championship.
