RGPS Passport Joplin: Local Player Cody Hughey Wins Main Event Ring

The RunGood Poker Series is one of the most renowned mid-major poker tours in the U.S. It originated from the RunGoodGear brand, established during the WSOP in 2012. The tour itself kicked off in 2014, right here in Joplin, Missouri, where its first chapters were written. Over time, it transformed from a regional project into a respected national tour, known for its player-friendly format, strong community spirit, and stops in casinos across America. RGPS is also celebrated for its iconic champion rings and has asserted itself as a major force in the American mid-stakes circuit, as evidenced by multiple Global Poker Awards in the Mid-Major Tour/Circuit category.

The recently concluded Main Event in Joplin, with a $600 buy-in, attracted a total of 752 entries, pushing the overall prize pool to an impressive $379,760. Champion Cody Hughey delivered a disciplined performance, starting the final day as the chipleader. Despite sliding to eighth place in chips at one point, he demonstrated patience and secured crucial double-ups to reclaim the top spot.
