The event, with a $3,500 buy-in and a generous $3,000,000 guarantee, attracted a massive 1,417 entries, pushing the final prizepool to an impressive $4,534,400. The main story of the tournament was the incredible journey of NFL legend Richard Seymour.

You can watch the entire gripping finale, where Seymour fought for his historic mark, on the official World Poker Tour YouTube channel:

Richard Seymour, who entered the final day as the shortstack, put on a heroic performance, gradually fighting his way to the concluding duel. Though he didn't secure the trophy, the $430,000 reward for second place marks a new career high for him, surpassing his previous record from the 2018 PCA High Roller.

On the flip side, Ian Cohen converted his early day lead into a lifetime victory, earning $656,200 and a spot in the exclusive Champions Club.

The decisive hand of the entire tournament occurred when the players had almost identical stacks. Richard Seymour was holding T d T c and called Cohen’s all-in with 7 h 7 s. Fortune, however, sided with Cohen as a seven appeared on the board 7 d 2 d 6 h J h Q c, granting him the win.

Cohen's name will now be forever engraved on the iconic Mike Sexton WPT Champions Cup alongside the series' greatest legends.
