Jonas Kronwitter Claims First PGT Title

The fifth event in the series, with a $10,500 buy-in, saw 63 registrations and a prize pool of $630,000. Austrian specialist Jonas Kronwitter, who had previously recorded three cash finishes, translated his stellar form into his first PGT victory.

Entering the final day as the chipleader among five finalists, Kronwitter personally eliminated Jeremy Druckman in 4th place and Jiyang Gan in 3rd place, setting up a heads-up showdown with Richard Gryko.

In the decisive hand, the players went all-in on a flop of J d 8 h 5 h. Both held top two pairs. However, Kronwitter, with K h J h 8 s 7 c , completed a flush on the turn A h, while Gryko with A s J s 8 c 4 c was seeking a full house to survive. The river 2 d confirmed Kronwitter's victory, awarding him $201,600 and his first PGT title.
