The second edition of the MSPT Spade Poker Championship at FireKeepers Casino attracted 2,442 entries. The initial $1 million guarantee, with a buy-in of $1,100, was easily surpassed, pushing the final prizepool to a staggering $2,367,240.
Ozturk had to leave the Michigan tournament in May due to his mother's terminal cancer diagnosis. She passed away a few months later, and he felt compelled to return and close that chapter.
On the final day, he withstood the pressure and advanced to the final table. There, he didn’t stop, and after eliminating Bencivenga in third place, he entered heads-up against Greg Wiggins. With even stacks, the players agreed on an even split deal, and Ozturk claimed the official trophy and title due to a slight chip lead.
Winning $280,290 not only set a new personal record for Ozturk but also catapulted him to the top of the MSPT all-time earnings leaderboard, with total winnings surpassing $1.33 million. With tears in his eyes, he dedicated the title to his late mother’s memory.
