WSOP 2026: Abhishek Mhatre Triumphs Over Martin Jacobson in Heads-Up (Event #56)

The two-day Event #56: $3K 6-Handed NLH attracted a field of 1,150 entries, creating a prizepool of $3,070,500.

Fifty-three players advanced to the final day, with eventual winner Abhishek Mhatre starting from the second position.

The main storyline of the tournament was the Swedish legend Martin Jacobson's quest for another title, as he battled all the way to heads-up play. However, Abhishek Mhatre stood firm against the star-studded competition. 

The decisive moment came when Mhatre moved all-in with T s 9 h and Jacobson, after some consideration, called with J s T d. Although the Swede was favored, the tables turned on the flop 5 s 2 c 9 d. The turn 6 c and river 4 s didn't alter the outcome, cementing Mhatre's life-changing victory.
