WSOP 2026: Asi Moshe Claims Fifth Bracelet in $3K Freezeout (Event #79)

Article cover

Event #79: $3K NLH Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em attracted a total of 1,792 players, creating a prize pool of $4,784,640. Despite the fierce competition, Asi Moshe delivered an extraordinary performance, holding the leader's position for almost the entire tournament. He emerged as the overall chipleader after Day 1 and entered the final with the second-largest stack.

The story of the new champion is even more fascinating as Moshe hung up his poker hat last year to work for a mobile gaming company. “It's amazing. For the last six years, I've been making a living from it, but this is my first bracelet won as a recreational player,” said Moshe, who hadn’t played a live tournament since WSOP 2025.

At the final table, Moshe fully leveraged his experience and immense stack, controlling about 60% of the chips in play for most of the time.

The final heads-up against China's Qiao Du was straightforward. Moshe entered with a massive 6:1 lead. In the final hand, Du went all-in with Q h T h, which Moshe called with A h K d. The board 8 d 2 d 5 h 5 c 3 c brought no surprises, sealing the victory for Israel.
