The opening event is something new
Poker enthusiasts are aware that the WSOP kicked off with a $500 casino-employees event, which was essentially a warm-up act before the real thing got going. That changes this year, with the first event being the $550 Mini Mystery Millions, which is a mystery bounty tournament with a $1,000,000 guaranteed bounty prize pool.
The mystery bounty format has been pulling big numbers at stops around the world for a couple of years now. A portion of each buy-in goes into a bounty pool, and when you eliminate someone, you draw a sealed envelope to find out what you've won. It could be $50 or $50,000, and the suspense around each knockout keeps the energy in the room at a level that straight knockout formats don't quite match.
The main event has a delayed final table
This is the one event that got people talking. The $10,000 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event begins July 2 with four Day 1 flights, and play continues through to July 13, when the field reaches the final nine. The final table will be played on a separate date with broadcast plans yet to be confirmed, but the WSOP has said the coverage will reflect the occasion.
Poker followers from the previous era remember when the main event final table became a genuine sports media event, with players going home and coming back months later to play it out. The drama of not knowing who was going to win for weeks at a time gave the whole thing weight and drew more fans to the game.
Daily free livestreams
An announcement that will go well with the fans is that the entire event will be streamed live and free on the official WSOP YouTube channel. A new broadcast set is going on at Paris Las Vegas, with commentary from established voices in the game.
Gone are the days when casual poker fans would have to pay for a PokerGO subscription to access any meaningful WSOP coverage. Opening it up won't change how the tournament is played, but it should change who is watching, and that would be huge for a game that has been trying to find its way back into the mainstream sports conversation.

The WSOP Circuit Runs Concurrently for the First Time
When the bracelet schedule wraps on July 15, the action in Las Vegas doesn't stop. A full WSOP Circuit series kicks off July 14 and runs through July 25 at Horseshoe Las Vegas, which will be the first time a Circuit stop has overlapped with the bracelet series.
The events include a $400 Mini Main Event, a $2,200 No-Limit High Roller, and a $1,700 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event. For players already in town for the summer, it means a direct path from the bracelet events into a Circuit festival without checking out of the hotel. Players who time their trip to catch the end of the WSOP and the full Circuit series get almost two full weeks of poker without any dead days between.
The player of the year race and how to get there
The 2026 POY competition is structured differently from anything the WSOP has run before, and the race is already underway. WSOP Europe will kick off in Prague on March 31 with a €5,300 Main Event carrying a €10,000,000 guarantee, which is the largest prize pool guarantee ever attached to a European poker tournament. Those 15 bracelet events in Prague are now feeding into the Las Vegas summer standings, which means the leaderboard coming into May will already tell a story.
Players outside the U.S. can qualify for the Main Event and other events through GGPoker's WSOP Express satellite system. U.S. players have the WSOP Online qualifying route, and the WSOP+ app has the full schedule and handles pre-registration, seat selection, and chip count updates during the series.
The combination of accessible options and a growing range of licensed platforms makes this summer more reachable than most. Players who want to stay sharp and build their bankroll in the run-up to Las Vegas have solid options available, including through online casinos Canada. The selection of licensed poker and casino platforms has expanded considerably as the regulated market continues to develop.
The schedule is set, and the final table format is back while the streams are free. Whatever happens at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas between May 26, and July 15 will be watched by thousands of poker fans worldwide.
