The tournament with a $1,500 buy-in attracted a total of 1,093 entries, generating a massive prizepool of $1,450,957. Normand, an experienced player in No-Limit Hold'em and classic PLO, entered this unique split-pot event mainly for points for his fantasy team, Chocolate Factory.
Despite learning the rules and strength of low hands on the fly, he delivered a dominant performance at the final table, facing off against seasoned specialists without finding a challenger. His path to the title involved a star-studded final day featuring seven bracelet holders. However, Normand entered the final day as the chipleader and maintained his position nearly throughout.
In a crucial hand, he eliminated the legendary Josh Arieh in third place, thwarting Arieh's quest for an eighth career title. The heads-up match against Michael Rodrigues lasted just one hand, in which Normand completed a straight, securing his first career bracelet.
Interestingly, this win is Canada's second consecutive title defense in this event, as fellow countryman Zachary Zaret claimed victory in 2025.
