WSOP 2026: Jamie Dwan Claims Victory in Sensational $50K NLH Heads-Up Comeback (Event #90)

Article cover

Event #90: $50K NLH High Roller drew the absolute best from the poker world. The tournament tallied 202 entries, creating a massive prize pool of $9,595,000. The top 31 players shared the financial rewards.

The final third day saw 13 remaining contenders, featuring several world-renowned stars. The journey to the official final table ended for names like Chris Brewer (13th place) and Erik Seidel (11th place). Kristen Foxen, a six-time bracelet winner, faced an unfortunate 'bubble' moment as her J-J clashed with Josef Schusteritsch's K-K, landing her in 9th place.

The quest for a ninth bracelet also ended for legendary Daniel Negreanu, who finished 8th when his A-K fell short against Dwan’s 9-9. Later, all-time money list leader Bryn Kenney took the bronze, adding over a million dollars to his account.

The final heads-up seemed disastrously stacked against the Brit. Austrian Daniel Rezaei entered with a commanding lead nearly 5:1. Refusing to back down, Dwan clawed his way back through a series of winning hands, including two critical double-ups, and took the lead.

Though Rezaei briefly regained control, it was ultimately Dwan who completed the comeback. In the tournament’s defining hand, Dwan went all-in with A c J d against Rezaei’s attempt at a double-up with A s T s. The board 3 d 3 h 5 c 4 c Q d offered no help to the Austrian, igniting raucous celebrations among the British rail.
