Players over 60 flooded the Event #61: $1K Super Seniors with a massive 3,323 entries. The overwhelming interest generated a total prizepool of $2,924,240, divided among the top 499 players.
One of the main attractions on the final day was the legendary Greg Raymer, champion of the 2004 Main Event. Although "Fossilman" started the day in a promising fifth position, his tournament journey ended just shy of the final table in 12th place, earning $22,305.
The final table was a showcase of poker patience. Lionel Barracano faced off against Kevin Song from South Korea in the concluding heads-up, who began with a slight lead. The tide turned when Barracano doubled up his stack with J d J c against Song's A c 3 h, leaving Song critically short with six blinds.
Song managed one more successful double-up, but the end was near. In the final hand, Kevin Song went all-in with 4 d 4 h, which Barracano called immediately with 5 c 5 s. The flop 5 d J s Q c gave the Frenchman a set, prompting his fans to erupt in cheers of "Allez, allez, allez!". After the turn Q d, victory was assured, and Barracano could begin celebrating his career-defining win.
Barracano not only captured his first career bracelet but also secured the first title for France at WSOP 2026.
