Event #93: $1,500 NLH The Closer is one of the most anticipated “turbo” events of the World Series of Poker. This year, the tournament attracted a total of 3,724 entries, generating a prize pool of $4,526,376.
421 players advanced to the final day, having made it through the initial days 1a and 1b. With the swift structure, the field quickly thinned out, though there was still a real threat that the tournament would require an extra day to conclude.
Only two bracelet holders made it to the final table, and it was down to Hasson and Song battling it out for a second WSOP title. The final heads-up began with Ori Hasson holding a 2:1 chip lead, and the decision didn't take long.
In the decisive hand of the tournament on the flop 2 d 8 s 4 s, Hasson announced an all-in. Song, after some thought, called with Q c 4 d, but was trailing Hasson’s top pair with K d 8 c. The turn K h gave Hasson two pairs, and the river 6 d sealed the result.
Kevin Song, just like in the $1K Super Seniors, couldn't make the final step, securing his second runner-up finish at WSOP 2026.
