This year's $1,500 Monster Stack once again confirmed its status as one of the most popular events on the WSOP calendar. It drew a massive field of 11,933 entries, creating a prizepool of $12,178,625. A total of 660 players made it to the payouts.
Alsup entered the final day in sixth place, showcasing patience in the heads-up against Salvatore Dicarlo. Despite facing a 1:4 chip disadvantage at one point, he managed to turn the tables, attributing his success to what he called the “new dad luck” after his victory.
The decisive moment came in an all-in showdown with A c 7 h against his opponent’s A s K c, when Alsup landed a winning seven on the flop. This triumph marks the biggest achievement of Alsup's career, surpassing his previous highest win more than fourfold.
