Event #91: $1,500 Pick Your PLO was a new addition to the WSOP 2026 schedule, testing players' versatility in various Omaha variants such as PLO8, Big O, 5-Card PLO, and PLO Double Board. The format garnered significant interest at Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas, drawing a total of 857 entries. The event's prize pool reached $1,137,667, and 129 top players shared in the winnings.
The final day started with ten players, and the official final table was formed in the first level. Sergio Benso entered the finale with an average stack but progressively climbed the ranks.
The showdown for the bracelet between Benso and American Farhad Jamasi was a true test of patience. The duel lasted nearly four hours, during which Jamasi fiercely defended against elimination. However, Benso ultimately gained control in the closing stages.
The decisive hand occurred in Big O. On the flop 3 s 4 h T d, Jamasi went all-in with a set of tens K h T c T s 7 d 6 h, which Benso called with J h 8 s 7 h 5 c 2 d. The turn 6 d completed both a straight and low for the Italian, and the river J d changed nothing. Benso's win of both halves of the pot sealed his career-defining victory.
