WSOP Online: Sergio Aido Dominates GGMillion$ High Rollers Again, Bags $2,228,762

The grand finale of the series attracted a whopping 1,754 entries, smashing the originally guaranteed $10 million prize pool, which soared to a massive $17,013,800. The top 173 players shared the financial rewards, with million-dollar payouts awaiting the best performers.

Entering the final day, Dutch player Roeland Peeks led as the dominant chipleader with 172 BB. Sergio Aido jumped in from a favorable 2nd position with a stack of 73 BB. The final table was broadcast live by GGPoker, with commentators Jeff Gross and Alex Foxen watching the battle of top global talent unfold.

The first to leave the final table was Swedish poker ace Niklas Astedt in 9th place, as his pair Qh Qs failed against the Ac Ah of Brazilian Matheus Machado. Machado was on fire, subsequently knocking out Alessandro De Michele, Johannes Straver, and Oshri Lahmani. When Ole Schemion exited in 5th place, only four players were left, each guaranteed a seven-figure payout.

In a massive clash between two European stars, Christopher Nguyen was eliminated, unable to overcome Aido's two higher pairs. After Machado sent Roeland Peeks home in 3rd place, the final heads-up showdown began.

In the decisive hand, Machado pushed his entire stack with Ah 3d, and Aido called with the dominant Ad 7d. The board 5s Jc 2d 6d Th held for the Spanish ace, who secured $2,228,762, his third WSOP bracelet, and a $30,000 WSOP Paradise Super Pass.

Aido seamlessly followed up on his 2024 triumph in the same tournament, where he bagged $1.9 million. Adding his first bracelet from the $50K High Roller at WSOP 2024 in Las Vegas, where he won over $2 million, showcases Aido's incredible consistency. Each of his three WSOP bracelets has awarded him a seven-figure sum.
