Izadi's victory was hard-won. Entering Day 3 of the tournament with a total of 1,489 entries and a prize pool of $2,255,835, he started with one of the smallest stacks. However, supported by his son and wife, he staged a comeback and arrived at the final table in third position. Taking control with an aggressive style, he applied pressure on the middle stacks, gradually building an impressive lead.
In the final showdown, he faced Louis George, who briefly took the lead. But Izadi quickly reclaimed it. In the tournament's final hand, George went all-in with A s 3 d, and Izadi called with 8 h 8 s. The board 5 d 7 d 4 d J c K c supported Izadi, sealing his victory.
This period has been remarkable for Izadi as, just weeks ago, he won the MSPT Main Event in Milwaukee, pocketing nearly $220,000. Now, he's claimed his tenth WSOPC ring and third from the Main Event. With career earnings exceeding $3 million, he's undoubtedly among the top figures in the current circuit.
The triumph in Cherokee holds special significance for him, achieved at his "home court" after years of effort. "This meant a lot to me. Cherokee is my home casino. I've won rings everywhere else, but never here. I feel incredibly happy," Izadi shared after his win.
