The festival's opening tournament, Event #1: €350 Mini Main Event, highlighted the overwhelming interest in the WSOPC series in Slovakia. The original guarantee of €300,000 was exceeded by over 60% due to a surge of players. A total of 1,709 entries created a prize pool of €519,536.
Entering the final table as the dominant chipleader was Hungary's Benjamin Lakatos. In contrast, his fellow countryman Peter Tordai began the final day with a smaller stack but managed to climb his way up.
The final phase of the tournament delivered thrilling battles. After Jakob Melloul eliminated Jozef Stern in fourth place, the stage was set for a Hungarian showdown in the heads-up. Tordai eliminated Lakatos and entered the final duel against Jakob Melloul with a slight advantage.
In the tournament’s last hand, the chips went flying after the turn 8 d 9 h 8 h 3 c, when Tordai easily called his opponent's all-in with Q s 8 s, against Melloul’s 9 d 2 c. Melloul needed help on the river, but A d sealed Tordai's victory. Thus, Peter Tordai marked his greatest career achievement right at the start of the festival.
