Bubble Drama: Deeb's Miracle

Day 2 delivered the kind of drama only poker can offer. The day's goal was to reach the money, which meant eliminating down to 393 players. The tension peaked in the final minutes during the hand-for-hand phase.

Two notable names found themselves at risk: Symeon Alexandridis and the renowned Shaun Deeb. While Alexandridis faced off with A-K against Daan Mulders' pocket tens and became the official bubble boy, Deeb showcased one of his famous escapes. Holding pocket sevens against an opponent's K-Q, he hit a straight on the board, doubled up his stack, and secured his spot in Day 3. All remaining players now have a guaranteed minimum payout of €10,000.

Thomas Eychenne on Top, Kabrhel's Roller Coaster Ride

Thomas Eychenne from France seized the chipleader position after Day 2, entering Day 3 with a massive stack of 2,010,000. He's aiming to add a bracelet to his previous Main Event EPT Barcelona title. Eychenne's stack grew in part thanks to a stroke of luck, where his pocket kings cracked an opponent's aces on the river, essentially doubling his stack.

A captivating story also unfolds around local maverick Martin Kabrhel. His day was a roller coaster—at one point, he was just one card away from chipleader status, yet ultimately bagged 162,000 chips after a series of ups and downs.

Other poker legends like Annette Obrestad (581,000) and the aforementioned Shaun Deeb, carrying a solid 689,000 after bubble drama, are still in the game. The tournament, however, concluded for the defending champion Daniel Pidun and world champion Michael Mizrachi.

A total of 356 players advanced to Day 3. The battle continues today at noon local time, and you can catch all the action as players vie for the incredible €2 million prize via the WSOP YouTube livestream:
