João Vieira

João Vieira is a Portuguese professional poker player, four-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner and Triton Poker champion. Known online as Naza114, he built his reputation through internet tournaments before recording some of the largest live results achieved by a Portuguese player.

His career spans short-handed No-Limit Hold’em, online championship series and mixed-game competitions. A former professional basketball player from Madeira, Vieira brought an established background in competitive sport into a profession in which preparation, concentration and repeated decision-making shape long-term performance.

His most valuable tournament victory came in March 2025, when he won the 150.000 $ eight-handed event at Triton Jeju for 4.610.000 $. Later that year, he added a fourth WSOP bracelet by winning the 100.000 $ High Roller in Las Vegas.

Early Life and Date of Birth

João Filipe Martins Vieira was born on July 27, 1989, in Funchal, on the Portuguese island of Madeira. Before poker became his main occupation, basketball was an important part of his life.

Vieira played professionally for CAB Madeira in Portugal’s top division. His early sporting career gave him experience of training, organised competition and performing under pressure well before he became widely known at the poker table.

The move into poker represented a change of profession while preserving his interest in competition. His later career would take him from Madeira to online poker’s international player pools and major live tournaments around the world.

From Basketball to Professional Poker

Vieira’s route into professional poker was gradual. In a 2026 interview, he described leaving university during a period with limited opportunities and taking the game more seriously after encouraging results. Pursuing poker was initially an uncertain decision rather than a guaranteed career.

As his results improved, the scale of his ambitions changed. Playing European tournaments developed into competing at the World Series of Poker, while early championship goals eventually became a desire to add further titles to an established record.

His sporting background provides context for that progression, although poker presents a different competitive challenge. A well-played session can still produce a loss, and a player must assess the quality of decisions separately from the immediate result.

Naza114 and the Online Career

Vieira became known internationally under the screen name Naza114. Online tournaments were central to his development, allowing him to compete regularly against players from different countries before his live high-roller victories made him familiar to a wider audience.

His record includes multiple World Championship of Online Poker titles on PokerStars. PokerNews credits him with nine WCOOP victories in its published biography, including three titles in 2019 and another three in 2022. Those achievements established his reputation across repeated championship campaigns.

The online and live sides of his career remain closely connected. His third WSOP bracelet was won on GGPoker, while his other three came in Las Vegas. That combination reflects a professional record built in both environments.

Moving to London

Vieira relocated from Portugal to London during his professional career. The official report accompanying his first WSOP bracelet explained that the move allowed him to participate on global dot-com online poker sites.

The location of a professional online player can affect access to tournament pools and the available schedule. For Vieira, moving abroad supported the online activity that had become a major part of his work. His Portuguese nationality and connection to Madeira remained central to his public identity.

The First WSOP Bracelet in 2019

Vieira won his first World Series of Poker bracelet in the 2019 5.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed event. He outlasted 815 entries and received 758.011 $, turning his online reputation into a major live championship.

The final table included Joe Cada, Olivier Busquet, Barry Hutter and Vieira’s Winamax teammate Pierre Calamusa. Cada, the 2009 WSOP Main Event champion, became his heads-up opponent.

Vieira began the final duel behind in chips, doubled into contention and completed the victory. In the decisive hand, his ace-king held against Cada’s ace-queen. The result was an important early milestone in a bracelet collection that would grow over the following years.

The 2022 WSOP High Roller Victory

His second bracelet came in the 2022 50.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em High Roller. The event attracted 97 entries, and Vieira defeated Lander Lijo heads-up to earn 1.384.413 $, as listed in the official WSOP results.

The final standings also included Galen Hall, Daniel Colpoys and Brian Rast. Winning against a field of that level added a major high-stakes championship to the six-handed title he had secured three years earlier.

The result became his largest live payout at that point. It also demonstrated that his success could extend beyond the online tournament schedule into events requiring a substantially larger investment per entry.

A Third Bracelet on GGPoker in 2023

Vieira won his third WSOP bracelet in the 2023 WSOP Online 25.000 $ GGMillion$ Super High Roller Championship on GGPoker. The tournament attracted 145 entries, with 15 players reaching the money.

He defeated Pieter Aerts heads-up and collected 760.396 $. The final table also featured Wiktor Malinowski, Leon Sturm, Niklas Åstedt, Mikita Badziakouski and Chris Hunichen.

The online victory joined the two bracelets he had won in Las Vegas. It was a particularly fitting achievement for a player whose public reputation had originally developed through internet tournaments.

Four World Series of Poker Bracelets

Vieira’s four bracelets were won between 2019 and 2025. All four titles came in No-Limit Hold’em events, with buy-ins ranging from 5.000 $ to 100.000 $. Three were won live in Las Vegas and one online.

Year Event Winning prize
2019 5.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em Six-Handed 758.011 $
2022 50.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 1.384.413 $
2023 WSOP Online: 25.000 $ GGMillion$ Super High Roller Championship 760.396 $
2025 100.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em High Roller 2.649.158 $

Runner-Up at WSOP Paradise in 2024

In December 2024, Vieira finished second in the 100.000 $ Triton Main Event at WSOP Paradise in the Bahamas. Alex Foxen won the title, while Vieira received 2.590.000 $.

The result raised the scale of his live tournament record considerably. It remained one of his largest career payouts and preceded his first Triton title in Jeju the following spring.

The 4.610.000 $ Triton Jeju Victory

Vieira won the 150.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em Eight-Handed tournament at Triton Jeju in March 2025. The competition drew 128 entries and generated a 19.200.000 $ prize pool.

He reached the final table as chip leader and ultimately defeated Aleksejs Ponakovs heads-up. The 4.610.000 $ first prize became his largest individual tournament payout, while Ponakovs earned 3.139.000 $ for second place.

The championship followed his runner-up finish in the Bahamas and gave him his first Triton trophy. After the win, Vieira acknowledged the importance of favourable cards in crucial situations as well as the work required to put himself in contention.

The Fourth Bracelet in 2025

Vieira returned to the winner’s circle at the 2025 WSOP by taking down the 100.000 $ No-Limit Hold’em High Roller. He beat a field of 103 entries and won 2.649.158 $, his second-largest individual payout.

Aram Oganyan was the runner-up, with Thomas Boivin, Isaac Haxton, Ben Heath and Andrew Lichtenberger also among the final-table finishers. Vieira and Oganyan exchanged the advantage several times before the Portuguese player secured the title.

The win brought his bracelet total to four. Together with the Jeju championship earlier in the year, it made 2025 a particularly significant season in his live career.

Mixed Games and the Poker Players Championship

Although his bracelets were won in Hold’em, Vieira’s WSOP record extends into other poker variants. His results include championship final tables in Razz, H.O.R.S.E. and other mixed-game settings.

At the 2025 WSOP, he finished fifth in the 50.000 $ Poker Players Championship for 298.614 $. He also placed fourth in the 10.000 $ Razz Championship for 101.983 $. In 2023, he had finished fourth in the 25.000 $ H.O.R.S.E. event for 236.163 $.

These results broaden the picture of his career. Mixed-game tournaments rotate through different rules and betting structures, requiring skills beyond those tested in a No-Limit Hold’em high roller.

Tournament Earnings and Portugal’s Money List

The Hendon Mob lists Vieira with 21.825.331 $ in total live tournament earnings in the database snapshot checked for this profile on October 14, 2026. His best live cash is 4.610.000 $, and he occupies first place on Portugal’s All Time Money List.

Tournament earnings are gross recorded cashes. They do not establish a player’s net worth or net profit because they do not deduct buy-ins, travel expenses or any shares belonging to backers. Online winnings are also a separate part of Vieira’s professional record.

His position in the Portuguese rankings reflects the accumulated value of his results across the international circuit. The precise totals and rankings can change as further tournament results are recorded.

Winamax and His Public Role

Vieira is a member of Team Winamax. His association with the operator places him within a group of sponsored professionals who appear at international tournaments and participate in poker media.

He also remains connected to the Portuguese poker community. During the 2026 Estoril Poker Fest, he discussed the value of major events taking place in his home country and his enjoyment of competing in a Portuguese-speaking setting.

Approach to Competition

Vieira has emphasised patience, discipline and emotional control when discussing his career. In his 2026 Euronews interview, he described the importance of judging decisions independently from short-term outcomes.

That perspective fits the structure of his record: repeated online championship campaigns, high-roller appearances and mixed-game tournaments rather than a career defined by a single format. His achievements connect an early sporting background with a sustained professional poker career.

With four WSOP bracelets and a Triton championship, Vieira has become one of the most accomplished Portuguese players on the international circuit. His record combines the online identity of Naza114 with substantial live results in some of poker’s most demanding tournament fields.
