Europe's premier poker series has reached its spectacular finale. This year's €5,300 EPT Main Event in Barcelona attracted 1,823 entries, pushing the total prize pool to €8,841,550.
Today, only the top six players will return to the tables at Casino Barcelona. Each of them is guaranteed a six-figure payday of at least €278,950, but it's the Golden Shard trophy and the €1,370,050 top prize that everyone is truly after.
Heading up the final table as the chipleader is Italy's Manuel Ferrari. Right behind him is hometown favorite Jose Criado, aiming to secure the first Spanish title at EPT Barcelona. Showing strong form is Michael Dwyer of Ireland, who led the field after Day 1a.
Nicolas Chouity, the EPT Monte Carlo 2010 champion, is the only previous winner at the table and is fighting from the shortstack for his second historic victory.
