The concluding seventh event of the entire PGT Sprint festival with a $10,500 buy-in attracted 53 entries, creating a prizepool of $530,000. A total of nine places were paid, thanks to an unusual moment at the bubble. Simultaneous eliminations of Patrick Leonard and Martin Zamani on two separate tables meant they evenly split the reward for the 8th place.
The unluckiest in the tournament were the renowned married couple Kristen Foxen (10th place) and Alex Foxen (11th place), who fell just short of the money.
In a five-player showdown, McKeehen and Jamie Dwan engaged in a fierce exchange. After a successful double-up, Dwan briefly took the chiplead, but McKeehen reclaimed his chips in the very next hand, returning to the top of the leaderboard.
Dwan was later eliminated by Daniyal Gheba, who gained momentum and subsequently knocked out Nicholas Schulte in 4th place and Darren Elias in 3rd place. Gheba entered the heads-up against McKeehen with a lead of more than 2:1. However, McKeehen demonstrated patience in the duel, gradually closing the gap and taking control of the match.
In the final hand of the tournament, Gheba went all-in with A h 8 h and McKeehen called with a pair of K c K h. The board 9 c 5 h 2 c 9 h 3 c provided no support for Gheba, confirming Joe McKeehen's victory.
