The last starting flight delivered one final surge for the Italian Poker Sport (IPS) Main Event at the Malta Poker Festival. Day 1J Turbo drew 680 entries, pushing the 59th edition of IPS to 5,552 entries overall. The final prize pool exceeded the guarantee by €274,419.

Hungary’s Antonino Karman leads the field into the final day with 11,020,000 chips, just 320,000 ahead of the second-largest stack. Italy’s Mario Montanelli sits third with 9,320,000, narrowly ahead of Daryl Thomas McAleenan on 9,220,000. With less than two million chips separating the top four, a single big pot could reshuffle the leaderboard.

All 55 returning players have secured at least €2,180. A top-five finish pays €50,000, third place earns €100,000, and the runner-up is set to collect €145,000. The winner will take home €200,000, more than 500 times the €390 buy-in.

The IPS Main Event is scheduled to resume at 1 p.m. local time on Wednesday, November 4 at Portomaso Casino. The Battle of Malta Main Event final gets underway an hour later at Casino Malta, giving the island two major titles to decide on the same afternoon.
