Incredible Comeback by Wilson Against a Legend

The series' opening tournament with a $5,100 buy-in attracted a total of 93 entries, creating a prizepool of $465,000. Five players made it to the final day, with Jeremy Ausmus holding a commanding lead. Ausmus, aiming for his tenth PGT title, extended his advantage and started the heads-up with an 8:1 chip advantage against Wilson.

However, Wilson staged a phenomenal comeback. A lucky double-up kept him in the game, followed by a stunning hero-call. On a board A s K h J s Q s 5 c, Wilson called Ausmus' all-in with J c 6 c, accurately reading his opponent's pure bluff with 7 s 3 c.

After his victory, Wilson admitted he has been relying more on instinct recently than on the charts: "I feel that when you're winning, it's easier to trust your instincts. I'm following my gut, and so far, it's working."

In the final hand of the tournament, Wilson's T h 3 h hit trips on a board of 3 c 9 h 3 s J d 6 h. Ausmus called Wilson's all-in with 9 c 5 d on the river, settling for second place.

U.S. Poker Open 2026 Schedule Continues

The U.S. Poker Open series is known for its high intensity, and this year is no different. Players compete not only for tournament winnings but also for the prestigious title of series champion, which includes the Golden Eagle trophy and a PGT Passport worth $25,000.

The series kicked off on April 10 and concludes on April 22, featuring a total of 10 NLH events with buy-ins ranging from $5,100 to $25,100.

Thanks to his victory, Brock Wilson now leads the USPO leaderboard. He has a unique chance to become only the second player in history, after Sean Winter in 2022, to win two consecutive NLH series within a single PGT season.
