WSOP 2026: Nathan Gamble Makes History with Third PLO8 Bracelet (Event #33)

Event #33: $10K PLO Hi-Lo 8 or Better drew an elite field of 390 entries, with the top 59 making it to the payouts. The winner pocketed $767,395 from a total prizepool of $3,627,000.

The title eventually went to Nathan Gamble, who had previously won two bracelets in 2017 and 2020 (both in PLO8). The champion credited his incredible success to extensive online play. “I probably have more hands played in this format than anyone in the world. At the table, I don’t have to think; it’s all about instinct and knowledge,” he remarked after his triumph.

The final day began with five players, with Justin Liberto holding a dominant chiplead. Liberto was aiming for his second bracelet that summer, but Gamble managed to take the lead, entering heads-up with nearly a 3:1 advantage.

In the decisive heads-up hand, both players went all-in on the flop K h J d 8 d. Liberto held pocket aces A h A d 6 s 6 d with a nut flush draw, but Gamble, with A c K d J s 7 h, had flopped top two pairs. The turn Q h and river 4 h didn’t help Liberto, sealing Gamble's historic entry into poker's annals.
