WSOP 2026: Nishant Sharma Dominates Deepstack to Clinch His First Bracelet (Event #98)

Much attention was on American Jason Wheeler, who had previously won this tournament in 2021. For a long time, it looked like he might repeat his success. However, Wheeler ultimately finished in third place after his hand, K d Q d, clashed with the A c A h of eventual winner Sharma.

The final showdown for the bracelet was between Nishant Sharma and Taiwanese player Chung-Tang Lin. Sharma entered the heads-up with a slight lead and quickly took control of the duel. 

In the decisive hand, Sharma put Lin all-in. After some contemplation, Chung-Tang Lin called with A h T d, while Sharma revealed K c 9 s. The flop Q c ​​​​​​​8 d ​​​​​​​9 h gave Sharma a pair, and even though the turn 7 h offered Lin hope with a straight draw, the river K d sealed Sharma's victory.
