Article cover

The exclusive NLH event with a $103,000 buy-in saw a total of 28 entries. The prizepool reached $2,800,000, divided among the top 5 players.

The 33-year-old Chicago native's path to the title went straight through the star poker duo, Alex and Kristen Foxen. At the end of day two, Wilson knocked out Kristen Foxen on the money bubble and began the final day from the 4th position.

Early in the last day, Wilson took over the chipleader position from Alex Foxen. Holding a combination of A c K d, he went all-in pre-flop, and Foxen called with T d T h. The board A h 2 h 2 c 4 s 7 d delivered the needed ace, putting Wilson in control of the final table.

Wilson also scored the first elimination at the final table by knocking out Adrian Mateos in 5th place. Later, he ended Alex Foxen's run at 3rd place when Foxen's all-in with 7 s 7 h ran into Wilson's 8 d 8 c, with another eight landing on the board.

In the heads-up, Wilson started with a slight lead against Nick Petrangelo, and the showdown came in a dramatic hand. After the board A d Q c 9 s J c 8 h, Petrangelo decided on a massive bluff, going all-in with 7 h 7 d. Wilson, holding Q s T s, completed the straight and called instantly, sealing his sixth and most valuable PGT title.
