ClubWPT Gold has announced that it will stop offering sweepstakes poker to players located in Nevada, marking another contraction of the alternative online gaming market in the United States.
Purchases were suspended immediately following the announcement, while postal requests for free promotional currency are no longer being accepted. Sweepstakes gameplay for Nevada residents will officially end on Monday, September 28, 2026.
Nevada Players Lose Another Online Poker Option
The decision is particularly notable because Nevada is the center of the American live poker industry. Las Vegas hosts the World Series of Poker and dozens of major tournaments every year, yet the state’s regulated online poker market remains extremely limited.
ClubWPT Gold provided an alternative through the sweepstakes model. Instead of operating as a conventional real-money poker room, the platform uses promotional currencies and allows eligible players to redeem prizes under sweepstakes rules.
The company did not provide a detailed public explanation for its withdrawal. The move nevertheless follows a broader trend across the United States, where sweepstakes gaming operators have faced increasing regulatory scrutiny and have withdrawn from several individual states.
ClubWPT Gold Continues Elsewhere
The change does not represent a complete shutdown of ClubWPT Gold. The World Poker Tour-backed platform will continue operating in other supported US jurisdictions.
Only players physically located in Nevada are affected by the latest restriction. They should review the operator’s official instructions concerning existing balances, prize redemptions and any applicable deadlines.
For Nevada’s poker community, however, the departure removes another available way to play online in a state whose digital poker market remains surprisingly small compared with its global importance to the live game.
