The road to victory wasn't easy for de Visscher. The final day lasted over 13 hours, and the winner admitted that due to fatigue and an early morning start at 3 a.m., it was an extremely taxing mental battle.
While the final day posed a marathon challenge, the decisive heads-up was surprisingly swift, lasting less than five minutes. In the concluding hand, de Visscher called an all-in with K c 6 d against Veldhoen's Q d 2 s. The board J d 5 d 9 h 9 d 9 c didn't help the German player, and the new champion began his celebrations.
De Visscher, who paused his professional poker career in 2012 to focus on his family, returned to the game just a few years ago and described this triumph as his greatest career victory.
