Chance Kornuth Eliminates Daniel Negreanu
The WSOP Super Circuit Main Event with a 5,000 CAD buy-in shattered its original 10-million guarantee, generating the largest prizepool in WSOP Circuit history at 13,082,400 CAD. Initially, 2,846 entries were trimmed significantly. Day 4 started with 116 players, but only 30 advance to the next stage.
The biggest buzz of Day 4 came from a clash of two poker titans. Hometown legend Daniel Negreanu began the day short-stacked but was close to stabilizing his position.
In a critical hand, Negreanu opened with T d T c, only for Chance Kornuth to 3-bet with A c K h. Negreanu went all-in, Kornuth called, and the board came 5 h 6 s 5 d 3 c. It looked hopeful for Negreanu to double-up, but Kornuth audibly wished for the ace of diamonds, and the dealer obliged with A d, sending Negreanu to the cashier in 99th place with a 14,500 CAD reward.

Day 4 also saw other prominent players bowing out, including William Givens at 33rd, Michael Wang (44th), Aram Zobian (68th), and Michael Mizrachi (78th).
