The World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP 2026) on PokerStars has crowned its champions in the main events. Brazilian Felipe “lipe piv” Boianovsky has become the first player in poker history to conquer the $10K Main Event at both SCOOP and WCOOP, while popular Argentine rapper and streamer Alejandro “Papo MC” Lococo dominated the $1K Main Event.

Renowned chess champion and popular streamer Alexandra Botez showcased her outstanding poker skills. In the special heads-up knockout tournament Poker Champs, organized by poker legend Doug Polk in collaboration with the online platform ClubWPT Gold, she navigated the entire tournament bracket undefeated, securing the top prize of $250,000.

The online poker world is grappling with an unprecedented scandal. According to reports, an attacker or group of attackers hacked into the computers of high-stakes players to remotely view their screens during play, including their hole cards.

The tournament with 766 entries culminated in a showdown between two friends who've been playing poker together for twenty years. Idir Haïche and Benoît Grobocopatel met for the first time in a heads-up battle for the title in Marrakech, and their decisive duel lasted just one hand. Haïche emerged as the Unibet DeepStack Open champion, taking home the winning belt and approximately €58,000.

Germany’s online poker numbers are heading in a different direction from the country’s virtual slots market. Online poker stakes fell from €186 million in Q1 2026 to €158 million in Q2, while virtual-slot stakes moved slightly higher over the same period. Australian poker player Alex Thompson achieved his biggest career victory by dominating the WPT Australia 2026 Championship. Thompson started the final day as the chipleader and turned his dominance into securing the trophy and a top prize of 450,900 AUD (~325,539$).

Yu Chung “Nevan” Chang has been crowned the champion of the record-breaking Superstar Challenge at the APT Jeju 2026 festival. For his victory, he takes home the Black Lion Silhouette trophy and a prize of 451,777,500 KRW (~$337,150). This marks Chang’s 10th title on the Asian Poker Tour (APT) circuit and his largest career win to date.

Spanish poker phenomenon Sergio Aido has once again proven his absolute world-class prowess. At the WSOP Online 2026 championship, he triumphed in the $10K GGMillion$ High Rollers event, earning his third career bracelet and a staggering $2,228,762 from the final event. With this victory, Aido has written an incredible chapter in poker history, having won the same tournament back in 2024.

The Main Event of the prestigious APT Jeju 2026 festival continues at LES A Casino in South Korea. The tournament drew a total of 1,375 entries, easily surpassing the initial guarantee of 2.2 billion KRW, with the overall prizepool reaching 3.2 billion KRW (~2.36 million USD).

After a challenging Day 2 and the bursting of the money bubble, only 198 players remain, each guaranteed a minimum payout of 4,180,000 KRW (~3,120 USD). The iconic trophy and a top prize of 556,340,000 KRW (~410,000 USD) await the ultimate winner.

Leading the pack is China's Ma Kaihong, the only player to push his stack over the one million mark. Hot on his heels are compatriot Jiawei Wan and Singapore's Kim Wah Chiu. The top ten is rounded out by renowned American pro Christian Harder.

Still in the hunt for the title are numerous poker stars and former champions, including APT Main Event Taipei 2024 winner Daisuke Ogita, Brit Scott Margereson, Daniel Neilson, and Taipei 2026 champion Walter Lau.
